The District Chief Executive nominee for  Adansi North, Hon. Eric Kusi Kwame has received a massive endorsement from the members of the Adansi North District Assembly.

The DCE nominee’s confirmation which was held Tuesday [May 2] saw him garner hundred percent votes, 59/59 yes and zero no.

The Ashanti Regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah was present to grace the occasion and perform his oversight responsibility to the assembly.

Meanwhile the president’s nominee for the Obuasi Municipality, Hon Elijah Adansi Bonnah’s fate is in limbo as residents are divided over his appointment.

Some are totally against his nomination while others are of the view that he is the best person to handle the Obuasi Municipal as an MCE.

The New Patriotic Party’s youth of Obuasi East and West constituencies yesterday [May 2] held a press conference to throw their weight Mr. Bonah. They are calling for a full confirmation of Mr. Bonah as the MCE.

Prior to the coming out of the MMDCEs’ list, a section of the residents who are against his appointment came with reasons such as, he is a brother in law to the Obuasi West MP who doubles as a Deputy Finance Minister, also they alleged that he was not a long time party member, hence not fit to be given the MCE position but Convener for the press conference yesterday, Nature Coffie gave some clarifications saying Mr. Bonah was not the in law of the MP contrary to the speculations, and he has “served our party in many ways as the polling station executive for one of the polling stations, in electoral area found here in Obuasi called Sanso.”

“Again he has been promoted from the polling station level to the constituency level as the Constituency Communications Director so indeed it is glaring that this person indeed qualifies to serve as the Municipal Chief Executive for the Obuasi Municipality.” He further explained to Kapital News’ Joseph Banzie.

He express hope that Mr. Bonah is given the massive endorsement he deserves when the time is due.
