A/R: Police nab two for selling ‘Indian hemp’ laced toffees

The Tafo-Pankrono Divisional Police Command has arrested two persons who have laced substances suspected to be Indian hemp with condensed milk toffees and selling to the public.

54-year-old Afia Pokuah was arrested at her resident at Old Tafo mile 3 after officers from the Tafo Pankrono Divisional Police Command picked intelligence about her dealings.

She later led police to her 56-year-old accomplice, Issah Yaw who she mentioned as the supplier of the substances.

Ashanti Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Juliana Obeng said  both  suspects are currently in custody while the substances have been sent for Forensic analysis in Accra.

“Both suspects Afia Pokuah and Issah Yaw are in police custody assisting with investigations, whiles the exhibit to wit the aforementioned substances will be sent to the forensic laboratory in Accra for Forensic analysis. The general public is being advised to be wary of the kind of condensed milk toffees they buy and the kind of place they buy them from. Since some of such condensed milk toffees are laced with Indian hemp”.
