Ghanaian – born music producer, sound engineer, rapper and Entrepreneur, Albert Ayeh – Hanson, well known as Ball J BEATZ has descended heavily on MUSIGA and VGMA Board.

In an exclusive interview with DJ Kastiva, host of Kuamsi’s No.1 chart Show, (THE KAPITAL TOP 15) on Kapital Radio 97.1 FM, the Lapaz Toyota hit producer when asked, why he has won just one award at the VGMAS, alleged that, there was some kind of corruption going on at MUSIGA and the award organizers.

He revealed that, MUSIGA has a team that holds meetings “and if you don’t patronize and update yourself in their meetings, you might be left out. So it’s not about the good works you do, but it’s about being part of their meetings. People don’t get nominated because, they don’t know what’s going on and at the end of the day, the reality is not on point.”

When asked, whether he’s questioning the credibility and criteria used by the awards board. He stated, “it’skind of mind games played by the awards board.”

Thus, if you think your work is good, you should go pick up a form to be considered for nomination. But if the Board / MUSIGA really loves you the artiste and wants to see you go far and think your work is strong for an award, they have to call you personally and advise that you pick up a form for nomination because, you can’t be automatically nomination.

He was further asked, how they (producer) feel if, they don’t get the deserving hype or are not recognized as producers to a song. He stated that, professionally, producers are not supposed to be heard. We are supposed to be  behind the scenes.

“It’s like you are directing a movie, and you are asking that we talk about the cameraman on TV. It doesn’t work like that. Professionally, you talk about the cast, and you write about the cameraman. Its same as music. Artistes are where the spotlight are on and the producer is someone that made it happened(architect).”

Ball J went on to talk about the one slot allocated for Song Producer of The Year at the VGMAS and he feels, that one slot is perfect for that category and needs no additional slot, unless the board wants to honor veterans in the industry. He challenged all music producers to work hard to compete for that category.

The 2015 VGMA Producer of the Year nominee had his say about some blogsites that put their tags or signatures in songs on the internet. He said, he feels those songs are not original because they’ve been tempered with. He added that, the bloggers are being paid for their jobs. They are trying to help to the artiste to by letting the public get access to. But also expressed disappointment in some DJs who rely on online music for song downloads. He advised that DJs connect with the artiste and get the original song and desist from downloading songs from websites with tags.

Finally about his expectations for 2017 and what he’s bringing on board, the NU Afrika Record owner disclosed, from 2012 after he released ‘LAPAZ TOYOTA’ and 2013 after some few songs with KwawKese and 2014 ( POOLEY ) and 2015 with ‘POOLEY SWAG, he travelled and came back in 2016 to start with the production of the popular TV series ‘YOLO’. This year, he is bouncing back with production. He disclosed, he has started working on some songs with KwawKese, GURU and Lil Win, entreating all to keep their fingers crossed.

“I am promising you that, 2017 is the biggest year God is going to put His music into the world through my hands. I’m going to do it with a clean heart and my perfect way and Ghana Music is gonna go far if they patronize what I will put on the table’’.
