The Paramount chief of the Talensi  traditional area,Naba Kubilsung-lebtang has urged political parties to avoid fomenting troubles in his Constituency in the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary elections .

The Talensi Constituency witnessed cases and scenes of violence during a  by elections in 2015 .

Vigilante groups from both NDC and NPP sent shivers down the spines of electorates and residents in that area after gunshots were heard, had security officials not  swiftly intervened, the situation would have escalated.

But addressing the Vice President Paa Kwwsi Amissah Arthur and his entourage who paid a courtesy call on him as part of his visit to the Upper East Region, Naba Namalteng said such acts does not auger well for the Democratic dispensation in the country.

“During the by elections we heard of what the political vigilante groups (Azorka and Bolga Bulldogs) were doing which affected the peace in this area. So you the politicians should tell your people to be mindful of this issue as we go into the polls” he said

He also added that his constituency is faced with numerous challenges especially poor road network hence government should turn its attention to this developmental threat.

Mr.Amissah Arthur  however reiterated that government is bent on working on the challenges in the area pointing out projects that are already being carried out  in the Talensi District.
