Fire destroys lives and properties near Asawase- Kumasi

Unconfirmed reports say three children have been burnt to death after fire razed down over 200 wooden structures at a slum near Asawase in the Kumasi metropolis.

The fire has destroyed properties worth thousands worth of Ghana cedis rendering the victims homeless. although the official cause of the fire is not known , some residents are pointing to candle lit as the cause of the fire which swept through the structures.

Firefighters had difficult time controlling the inferno due to lack of access route to the slum.

Some of the victims who have expressed their frustration over the incident  also appealed to the government to come to their aid.
