Former President John Dramani Mahama, has this morning, informed President Nana Akufo-Addo of his decision to withdraw his earlier request for the use of No.3 Prestige Link, Cantonments and No.6 Third Avenue, Ridge as his official residence and office respectively.

The request for No.3 Prestige Link was informed by a prior agreement between the two leaders, but following the recent controversy about the use of the facility, the former President has decided to withdraw the request.

In a letter dated Tuesday, January 10, 2017 addressed to the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, the former president said, “it would appear that these requests threaten to mar the spirit of cooperation with which we as co-chairs of the joint Transition Team have managed the smooth transfer of power from my administration to yours.

“I believe that these controversies are absolutely not needed in these early days as your government settles into office”. The former president added.

Mr. Mahama ended his letter of which he copied the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu 11, by wishing the President Akufo Addo, his family and his administration well as he strives to consolidate and advance the gains made by successive governments.
