The Executive Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is set to decide on two proposed date for the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League.

The league which was earlier fixed for the 18th of December had to be changed as a result of the various legal tussles that were confronting the Ghana FA disciplinary committee.

The Premier League Board (PLB) is now awaiting a decision from the GFA Ex-Co as they settle on either January 19 or February 18 2017 for the start of the new season.

This is the third season running where there have been an uncertainty around the start of a new season.

The January date is likely to coincide with the 2017 African Cup of Nations which will be taking place in Gabon from the 14th January to 5th February 2017.

The 2016/17 Ghana Premier League will preceded by a gala for all the sixteen (16) clubs that will be taking part in the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League.
