My Hope: Not All Are Politically Mad

I grew up in an environment (home and school) where everyone had and still has the right to have an opinion without being called negative names. I have contextual tolerance.

There is a general impression of Ghana blocked into two along NPP and NDC lines and at war. Uniquely characteristic of this season is the behaviour of those of the NPP divide that creates an impression that the other, NDC, is a constitutionally labeled terrorist group that if your opinion even favours them slightly then you are committing a crime.

The attitude has no resemblance with multiparty politics. They are giving us North Korean experience trying to shut everybody down. They want us to believe, without reasoning, President Mahama is inherently bad. Really?? Anyone who doesn’t see President Mahama the way they have chosen to see him is a hypocrite or in bed with him.

Mehn, EVEN ADOLPH HITLER I RESPECT HIM IN A CONTEXT!! EVEN GENERAL IDI AMIN, I RESPECT HIM IN CONTEXT!!

I WAS IN A TAXI the other day and there was this staunch NPP man in the front passenger seat. He was passionate about criticising the government and the need to vote them out. I was a spectator. Then we got to the Kotokuraba Market and he abruptly went silent. His next comment was “As for this market they have done very well”.

The next was a story of how the previous day an NDC friend had thrown an NDC T-Shirt at him. He said he laughed and took the shirt home to his elder son who is an NDC member.

“Me ba no )se NDC a Na )p3” (As for my son he says it’s NDC he wants). This is an NPP executive.
I GOT GOOSEBUMPS! NOT ALL ARE POLITICALLY MAD IN GHANA. THIS IS WHY I HAVE NO FEELING I NEED PERMISSION TO EXPRESS MYSELF IN THIS FREE SOCIETY. I WON’T ALLOW ANYONE TO TURN THIS COUNTRY INTO NORTH KOREA OR SIERRA LEONE FOR ME.

There is a masqueraded political Intolerance that makes the NPP look dangerous to me; their reactions to my posts make me feel I am living in the 1950s Gold Coast/Ghana. It’s not just the intolerance; there is blatant hypocrisy and wilful dishonesty I have witnessed on my wall. THEY ARE NOWHERE TO BE FOUND WHEN MY POSTS CUT NDC BUT ALL OVER MAKING IRRATIONAL ACCUSATIONS AND NAME-CALLINGS WHEN IT’S AGAINST THEM.

When you watch a video with your own eyes and state what judgement you make of it they jump here to call you names. No, you should by all means see the video the way they have chosen to see it. Rubbish!

WHEN I SAW THE PANS NDC PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDATE IN CAPE COAST WAS SHARING AND SHARED HERE, DID YOU PAY ME TO DO THAT?
