Chief Executive of the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly (AMMA) has pledged to work hard to ensure the flagship policies and programmes of the New Party Party’s led administration are achieved.

According to him, the policies outlined by the Akufo-Addo Government will help transform the country’s economy.

Alhaji Alidu Seidu who was part of the third batch of Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives(MMDCEs) to be sworn in by the Ashanti Regional Minister after their confirmation, has outlined some thematic areas he will tackle as he takes over office.

These areas include; sanitation, education and youth unemployment within his municipality.

The MCE indicated that development of the area cannot be possible without the cooperation of residents, stakeholders at the Assembly, the media as well as religious and traditional leaders in area.

He has also pledged to open his doors for guidance and counseling from influential individuals within the area since carrying out developmental projects needed a concerted efforts.

Alhaji Seidu until his nomination to the high office of MCE was the parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Asawase Constituency during the 2016 presidential and parliamentary elections.

He also promised to complete all stalled projects that was started by his predecessor under the John Mahama led administration.

“We are taking office from today. We know that we will be faced with challenges, because you find yourself in a new portfolio tomorrow. As to what is there, it would not be readily known by you unless you get there. We have our aspirations. We are of the view that we sold our messages to Ghanaians for which reason they reposed their confidence in us to vote for our President that is the reason we also find ourselves here. Issues of sanitation is one, issues of education is one, youth unemployment is also one and a few others. So it is our hope that all of you will give us your massive support to see us through and Insha Allah we will not let the President down”.

Alhaji Alidu Seidu is optimistic that with the support, prayers and total cooperation from all stakeholders within the area, the Asokore Mampong Municipality will experience an unprecedented development.
