Kintampo Tragedy: Prez condoles with bereaved family
President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed his ‘deepest condolences’ to the bereaved families of the students who perished at the Kintampo waterfalls Sunday [March 19, 2017].
At least 16 [at most 20] students met their untimely death Sunday afternoon after been crushed by a tree which fell on them at the Kintampo Waterfalls where they went for an excursion.
The victims were mostly students from the Wenchi Senior High School.
The Kintampo Police, which confirmed the late Sunday afternoon accident, said the injured have been sent to the Kintampo Municipal Hospital for medical attention.
In a tweet on the incident Monday, the President who is on an international mission said in a tweet, ” I have learnt with great sadness, the unfortunate incident that occurred at Kintampo Waterfalls yesterday.
“My deepest condolences to the families of all those affected by this unfortunate and tragic incident”.
