Assembly members of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) have finally been able to elect a Presiding Member (PM).

This was after the intervention of the Asantehene, Otumfour Osei Tutu II.

It would be recalled that the assembly, after six failed attempts was unable to elect a PM, with the previous attempts being riddled with chaos, allegations and counter allegations.

This forced the King to intervene in the protracted impasse to end the feud and get the assembly a PM for the development of the Garden City.

Kapital News’ sources earlier hinted of a meeting between the Asantehene and members of the assembly on Saturday, October 8, 2016, where they agreed to unanimously approve the candidate that will be proposed or suggested by Manhyia.

That candidate is Nana Adu Mensah Asare, the Amakomhene. amakomhene

At the end of the voting, a hundred (100) voted YES, twenty-two (22) voted NO.

Kapital News’ Hafiz Tijani reports that, after his swearing in, the newly elected Presiding Member for the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, Nana Mensah Adu Asare, charged Assembly Members to bury their differences and work towards the development of the Kumasi metropolis.

He has also pledged to act fairly in running the administration of the Assembly.
