Members of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly have massively endorsed Hon Osei Assibey as the new Metropolitan Chief Executive.

Hon Osei Assibey secured 132 votes out of the 133  total votes cast, while  one rejected ballot was recorded.

Mr. Osei Assibey was appointed last week Friday by the president, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo to the KMA Chief Executive position.

Prior to the election, members of the Assembly promised their massive endorsement to the new Kumasi Mayor, saying Kumasi is lagging behind in development, hence they will endorse and work with him to change the fortunes of the metropolis.

Mr. Osei Assibey succeeds Mr. Kojo Bonsu who served as the KMA boss under the Mahama administration until he resigned in 2016 following a petition from the Asanteman Council calling on his resignation.
