Aduana Stars proved their quality in the second edition of the Ghalca G6 tournament when they defeated a determined Accra Hearts of Oak side 4-3 on penalties yesterday at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The phobians who paraded a similar line up to that which defeated Kumasi Asante Kotoko got the first goal in the first half when speedster Patrick Razak reacted first to prod home a Joseph Addo save after the phobians were awarded a free kick in the Aduana area.

Hearts of oak through out the game were relying on the pace of Patrick Razak and Ibrahim Musah to stretch the Aduana defence.

Late in the first half Bright Agyei latched onto a through ball but could not put the ball past the imperious Bernard Mensah in post for the phobians.

The ogya boys upped the ante in the second half and were duely rewarded when Nathaniel Asamoah got  on the end of a header to grab a deserving equalizer for Aduana.

Hearts of Oak goalie and defence protested vehemently because they thought the goal should not have stood since it was a drop ball but referee Dally Gabga pointed to the centre circle.

Tried as both sides did they were not able to grab the winner and the match went into Penalty shoot out.

When it went to the penalty kicks Vincent Atingah, Anthony Nimo,Don Bortey scored for the phobians while Mustapha Essuman and Richard Akrofi missed their penalties for Hearts of Oak.

For the champions Aduana Stars, Yakubu, Noah Martey, Wahab Adams, Godfred Saka all scored while Derrick Sasraku missed for Aduana Stars.

Earlier in the day, Kotoko and Bechem united were involved in a nine goal thriller that ended with Asante Kotoko winning 5-4 . Emmanuel Gyamfi, Kwame Boateng grabbed a brace each while Isaac Quansah scored one for Bechem, Ahmed Toure scored twice against his former side before being red carded with Yaw Arnol scoring one.
