PHOTOS: Black Stars Thrash Asokwa Deportivo In Friendly

The Black Stars of Ghana on Wednesday defeated division 1 side Asokwa Deportivo 6-1 in a warm up friendly at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Ghana did not start with much of the usual suspects with Joseph Addo in post,Samuel Sarfo of Liberty Professionals at right back and Daniel Darkwa at left back.

With Rashid Sumaila and Jerry Akaminko in central defence,Isaac Sackey,Yaw Yeboah, Afriyie Acquah and Frank Acheampong playing in the middle with Winful Cobbinah and Jordan Ayew up top.

The Stars opened the scores midway inside the first half after Jordan Ayew connected with a header before Frank Acheampong added a second before half time.

Ghana went into the break with the 2 nil lead before a raft of changes were made for the start of the second half.

The second half started with Richard Ofori in post,Harrison Afful,Lumor Agbenyenu,Daniel Amartey and John Boye in defence.

In midfield,Ebenezer Ofori,Thomas Partey,Thomas Agyapong and Dede Ayew completed the team while Raphael Dwamena and Majeed Warris led the line.

Warris added the third for the Black Stars before Raphael Dwamena added the fourth.

The Lorient striker added a fifth in the 69th minute before Raphael Dwamena put the icing on the cake with the sixth in the 89th minute.

Kwesi Appiah’s side takes on Ethiopia in the Afcon 2019 qualifier on Sunday.

The Ethiopian’s are expected to touch down in the country later today before enplaning to Kuamsi.
