The Police in Kuntenase in the Bosomtwe district of the Ashanti region has begun investigations into a robbery incident at Deduako near Kuntenase in which the district chief executive officer of the area,Madam Veronica Antwi Agyei was robbed at gun point.

The DCE who is also a Parliamentary candidate on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress, NDC, was in the early hours of Thursday robbed by three masked armed men at Deduako just some few minute’s drives from her bungalow at Kuntenase, the district capital.

Though the Honourable DCE was left unharmed, the three armed men succeeded in robbing the DCE to the tune of GHc2,600, three mobile phones as well as other valuables.

Some close associates of the DCE in an interview with Kapital News’ Precious Adusi Poku said, the Honourable District Chief Executive was on an official assignment to Accra, when the unfortunate incident happened.

“The DCE was on her way to Accra for a program. Just between  five and ten minute time, at a community called Deduako, three armed men ordered them the driver to stop the vehicle in which the DCE was on board. The two on board the vehicle were made to lie down on the floor, where they were later forced to surrender all monies on them”. they revealed.

The Kuntenase police patrol team responded to  distress calls but they arrived too late after the robbers had bolted.

Kapital News also gathered that the three armed men could not be identified by the victims, however the district police command has launched investigations into the untoward incident that happened on Thursday morning.

Precious Adusi Poku also unraveled that the leader among the three robbers wanted to shoot the DCE after the expedition but one of them intervened that they should leave her since they have succeeded in amassing an amount of GHc2, 600, three mobile phones and other valuables.

The NDC parliamentary candidate  is yet to come out officially on what really transpired as far as this incident is concerned.
